Challenges or Sufferings Make One a Better Human Being
AN202112-01Many times in life, we may take for granted certain things until a disaster strikes. Some might see if as suffering, but one can also choose to raise above it and see hardships as an opportunity for growth and character developement.
“Without adversity, there would be no growth, and without growth, there would be no lesson to be learned.” ― Michelle D. Rosado,
I believe that everything that happens in life happens for a reason. And the hardships that come are here to teach valueable life lessons.
Many times, living in a modern society, we are always hustling and bustling to make ends meet. Hardships can be a time for one to re-examine life priorities and gain appreciation for the things taken for granted. For instance, a busy executive may constantly be working overtime and neglect spending time with his family until he discovers that he has contracted a critical illness. He is forced to step back from work and undergo treatment for an extended period of time. This presents an opportunity to reflect upon one's proirities and to ponder what he really lives for. Through this experience, he may come to realise that his family take greater importance than work and choose to scale back on his working hours once he has regained his health.
Additionally, going through adversities helps one to gain a different life perspective and enable us to empathise with others going through the same situation. By sharing with others how we overcame similar challenges, we are also able to inspire others and help them see the light at the end of the tunnel.
