Details Of Your Entry

Recently, many countries are experiencing disasters that are caused by the climate changes on Mother Earth. These disasters are becoming more extensive and uncontrollable even as mankind has higher technologies and artificial intelligence applications across many fields. The bottomline is Man has to recognise that we are living under the mercy of the elements on Earth and no technology can prevent disaster from happening but Man is still greedily harvesting from Mother Earth. Being residents of a tiny country, if we are not prepared even upon witnessing the disasters happening around us, we wil be more helpless than ants. To be self-sustenance is no longer a luxury but a necessity.

Singapore has a sunny and rainy weather that makes growing of food possible. So we have to equip ourselves with the knowledge of growing edibles and not just flowers. We need to learn how to keep our non-renewable resource, soil, fertile forever. We need to develop the skills to manage indoor and outdoor agriculture. All these skills can be acquired from hands-on experience as it is not a tough technology. So we cannot be lazy or complacent that food can be easily imported and purchased to become our meals.

We need to source for food with high nutrients that will last us the whole day even when we are down to a meal per day. No more greedy eating and taking junk food that choke our body with toxins. We need to educate our family members on survival skills in the event of food crisis. What are the basic nutrients that our body needs to survive? It is the same list of nutrients as we have the same biological system. Work on good eating habits and intermittent fasting to understand our body. Hunger does not kill but ignorance kills immediately.

Everyone on Earth needs to eat and when disasters strike a few countries simultaneously, Singapore will have no import food available and local produce will become too scarce to feed a densely populated city state.

If we can be mentally and physically prepared for a food crisis, the sufferings will be reduced by 50 percent. On the contrary, if we keep avoiding the reality and continue our unhealthy lifestyle, our sufferings will be exponential when any crisis strikes.
