With the recent events such as wars between countries, it inevitably resulted in an increase in oil prices that in turn resulted in increase in food prices as well. The increase in food prices make it difficult for people in poverty to secure food hence instead of waiting around for donations, people in poverty should seize this opportunity to start growing crops on lands that are available. In this way, they will be able to grow their own food for survival and the additional crop can then be exported for sale in developed countries. Being self-sustenance may help people in poverty to be independent with a glimmer of hope to improve their lives and one day get out of the poverty cycle. Although it will be great if the people in poverty are able to utilise their lands for the growing of the crops, we need to understand that there are other factors such as condition of the soil and weather which may also affect the crops. Instead of relying on countries which have available land to grow crops and leave it to the elements to determine the results of the crop, it is important for developed countries to play their part by utilising technology to make up for the lack of space. Leveraging on hydro- and aero-farming, developed countries which do not have adequate space, can also do their part to produce their own crops to stay sustenance within the country and this will result in that country being less reliant and taxing on the global food crops.

Hence in conclusion, when a problem arises, in this case food shortage crisis, we should seek for resolution instead of dwelling in the problems. With a positive and problem seeking attitude, we the human race will be able to collectively gain so much more whilst being able to seek solutions to our problems.
