With the advance in technology, it is prevalent for most people to embrace AI everyday in their lives.

Students use it to gather knowledge, cross check their answers or help them with their school work quickly and efficiently instead of crawling through the internet to seek different opinions through different sources. Adults use it for their work such as gathering research materials, brainstorming ideas and some may even use it for crafting words or coming up with content which aids individuals who are being stretched to the max. On one hand, it helps individuals to work more efficiently but on the other hand, it allows employers to reduce the number of headcount with the use of AI. The reason being that AI is cheaper, more obedient since it is a machine so it can be programmed to work for the employers and more efficient as AI does not have any downtime. Hence, recently it is not difficult to notice that more and more people are finding it hard to change jobs as more jobs are made redundant and replaced by AI.

Personally I find AI to be a double-edged sword. It should be a tool that can be used by small business which find it hard to hire employees due to the rising costs however it should be used to caution. As much as AI is capable of doing multiple jobs, there is a need to cross-check the work deliver by AI to ensure that it is not blindly copied from the Internet. From a small business stand point, with limited resources, it is easier to manage the AI in use. However for big corporations, it will be better for big corporations to hire humans and only use AI to improve certain processes instead of using AI to replace headcount. This will help in terms of employability of humans instead of using AI to replace humans.

The evolution of technology may be great however, there should be a consensus on what AI should be used for and how eventually it may improve humans’ quality of life without causing stress to humans in terms of livelihoods and especially on the topic of ethics. AI is a very power tool that can help the human race, however over reliant on it will result in negative impact to the human race. Hence it is important for the evolution of AI to fall in the right hands under people with good intentions for humanity.
