As scammers are getting more smarter and updated we also cannot lack behind. We need to be vigilant when using social media and even physical.

Details Of Your Entry

To prevent scams, we need to be aware of what is happening and what can be done to prevent scams. Such as not to be greedy and kiasu. Scammers know we like cheap deals or earn money so they use tactics that offers these to make us download phishing apps or malicious apps to steal our information and money. When facing scams do not be shy to ask people around they may just give the right advice. Example banks offcers had helped many people who almost send money to their fake friends or lover scammers. Do get updated at anti scams roadshow or call 1799 to check. Do not be greedy for too good to be true offers. Even physically now also like got scammers around. I had encountered someone asking me to help with sending messages as he do not know how but after doing so he say he want to thank me to offer something. Not sure what he want to offer as I just rejected and walk away. Another time is someone trying to give a phone to my son. Do not take stranger's phone as we do not know if it is stolen or had done crimes. It may also have being tampered with apps we do not know or he may be trying to target on little children. We have to protect ourself and family. Always share news to them about the current trend and know what to do when encountering scams. Like turn off the network sources and reformat the phone. Long ago there is some kidnap scam where they call and say one's child had been kidnapped and ask for money. Now is more fake friends, investment, love and jobs scams.

I also heard stories where people are scammed to countries like Cambodia. Most are job scams and operate in call centres they are to work until they can earn enough to get out if not they get tortured. Or they will ask family to pay then they release their family member. Most will first offer overseas opportunity to one country then change to another country. They allow them to call home once awhile to pretend they are fine to their family and confiscate the phone later. If scammer's targets are not met they will be tortured. Heard festive season alot will ask to go overseas take goods like Chinese new year cookies or goodies but end up got caught in a call centre in Cambodia.

So we read and see alot not sure if these are true but just be vigilant and keep ourselves updated as they may keep change their ways of scamming. Always act, check and tell. Is okay to ask for second opinion.
