Never be over-confident as all traps are designed to capture those who are egoistic

Details Of Your Entry

I’ve always been proud of my skills. People called me the go-to developer at work, and I believed I could handle anything. I told myself it wasn’t arrogance—just confidence. But confidence can be dangerous when it turns into overconfidence.

I saw a job online promising huge rewards: 30% profit for every project completed. I didn’t check too much, didn’t ask questions. “I can handle this,” I thought. “I’m smart. Nothing can go wrong.”

At first, it felt exciting—new city, new challenges. Then I realized what the projects actually were: fake companies, fake investors, scams. I tried to leave, but it was too late. My passport was gone. My freedom was gone. Suddenly, every skill I was proud of became a trap.

I got paid well, sure—but the cost was everything that mattered: my freedom, my safety, my peace of mind. My ego had blinded me. I’d walked right into a trap designed for people like me: confident, skilled, and arrogant.

Now I know: never be over-confident. No matter how smart you think you are, there’s always someone ready to exploit it.
